MISSION AND VISION

Fundación Asha-Kiran sets out from a very simple motto:
“Life is a series of single moments”

At Asha-Kiran, we understand how important it is for basic needs to be met at every instant, or that they not become an obstacle, for every moment in life to be lived with as much quality as possible.

Asha-Kiran defines quality as the opportunity to be sure of oneself, to be able to make choices, to face the future with hope and with full vitality. We think that the opportunities for development that our social labor offers to children - our beneficiaries - can supply individual moments lived with 'quality'.

MISSION

Fundación Asha-Kiran is an organization formed by people with diverse politic, religious and cultural backgrounds who have come together with the aim of creating HOME - a space where vulnerable children in India may rely on the affection, care, protection, safety and opportunities of participation that will allow them to develop vitality and the ability to be happy, elements we consider innate in all human beings.

In our mission, we have the rights set forth in the Convention of the Rights of the Child as our basic and permanent frame of reference. Attaining our goal necessarily implies developing processes of community development which are respectful of our beneficiaries' traditions and culture.

VISION

At Asha-Kiran, we work with the hope of building, all together, a suitable world for children in which they can count on the right to be children - to play, to be valued and to learn; to not be adults prematurely; to not have to worry about food and shelter. We think that a suitable world for them will be both the beginning and the result of a transformation in the way that human beings live.
